About Us
Our Story
We are Glenn and Kris Kooima, owners of Whispering Pines Puppies. Our journey began when we met in college and were married in 1991. Our first years together were spent in a small Iowa town where Glenn owned and managed a feed business, while Kris worked as a CNA in a nursing home.
Everything changed when we started our family. Kris dedicated herself to caring for our children full-time, and God blessed us abundantly with 5 wonderful children. Today, 3 of them are married, and we’re blessed with 9 grandchildren, plus 1 precious one in Glory, and 2 more “on the way”!
A Family Passion Takes Root
Both growing up on farms, we were eager to move our young family to the country. In 1997, we made that dream come true and settled on our beautiful 10-acre property in Northwest Iowa.
What started as raising a few puppies as a hobby quickly blossomed into something special. Our children loved the experience, and we discovered a strong demand for our Mini Goldendoodles. What began as a family project has now grown into a thriving business that we’ve been passionate about for over 20 years.
Our Values
We absolutely love raising Mini Doodles and take great pride in placing them in loving, forever homes. Every puppy that leaves our farm carries with it the care, attention, and love that only a true family operation can provide.
Northwest Iowa may not be the most exciting place to live, but it’s proven to be the perfect place to raise a family—and puppies! Our rural setting provides the ideal environment for our dogs to thrive in spacious, natural surroundings.
